Triton ATM Machines

In the early 1990s, Triton pioneered ATM withdrawals in retail stores by introducing the Triton Scrip terminal. This machine allowed a store’s customers to use an ATM card to generate a scrip voucher, redeemable for cash at the register. Later that decade, Triton Systems introduced the Triton 9500 Series ATM—a cash dispensing ATM Machine using a De La Rue dispenser.

Then came the Triton 9600, and many other popular models followed. In 2000 Triton was acquired by Dover Corporation (NYSE-traded DOV). Dover was a manufacturer of a wide range of products for both industrial and commercial use. In 2004 Triton launched the RT2000, a small, low-cost thought-the-wall ATM. That same year, since its inception, Triton shipped more than 120,000 ATMs to 17 countries worldwide.

In March of 2010, Dover Corporation divested its interest in Triton Systems and sold Triton to a group of private investors. The company is currently privately held.

ATMDepot.com carries the full line of Triton ATM Machines even though we don’t list them all online. Triton ATMs have been the market leader since the early 1990s and continue to make solid, reliable ATM Machines. They are the only 100% made-in-the-USA ATM manufacturer.

It’s not uncommon to get 10+ years of solid use out of a Triton ATM. In February 2011, Triton surpassed 2,100,000 ATM Machine installations and had its 50th Anniversary in 2017 with over 3.6 Million ATMs installed. Triton introduced its ARGO lineup with the ARGO 7 in 2013, and in 2015 released the ARGO 12 and 15 to their lineup.

Noah Wieder, CEO of Intelligent eCommerce, Inc. (owner and operator of ATMdepot.com), has been in the ATM business since 1992 when Triton first introduced its scrip machines. Mr. Wieder was part of Triton Systems’ original Triton Advisory Committee and served two years on the task force.
