Q:
How can your company pay me 110%* of my ATM surcharge?
A: When
a customer uses an ATM other than their own bank, there bank has
to pay a fee to the ATM networks for "finding" the account
and "routing" the transaction. The bank pays the network
an “Interchange” (Plus, Star, Cirrus, NYCE, Etc) and the network
pays ATMdepot.com a small transaction fee (a portion of the “Interchange”.
Since we don't have any sales representatives to pay like other
companies and our overhead is internet based, we are able to share
that Interchange revenue with you for purchasing processing services
directly from our web site. |
|
|
|
Q: Visa & MasterCard are reducing Interchange commission, how does that affect my ATM?
A: This does not affect the ATM surcharge; it only affects
the additional 10% Interchange commission revenue you receive over and above the surcharge
on this small percentage of transactions for these specific networks.
Effective April 1, 2005, MasterCard lowered the Interchange rate by $0.05 for Cirrus ATM
transactions. These account for approx. 5% of all ATM transactions on our network.
On October 1, 2005 Visa lowered the Interchange rate by $0.10 for Plus ATM Transactions.
These account for approx 10% of all ATM transactions on our network.
EXAMPLES:
If your ATM processes 500 transactions per month, the number of MasterCard/Cirrus
based transactions is approx. 25 (5%) transactions.
Your commission is reduced by $0.05 on those 25 transactions (approx. $1.25).
If your ATM processes 500 transactions per month, the number of Visa/Plus based transactions is
approx. 50 (10%) transactions. Your commission is reduced by $0.10 on those 50 transactions (approx. $5.00). |

Q: How do I get my ATM switched over to ATMdepot.com?
A:
Simply click to "get
started" and follow the wizard. You will be asked a series of
questions regarding your ATM and your store location. The questions
will fill in an online application that you will be emailed for a
signature. Once you sign the paperwork and fax the documents to our
office (mailing the originals with a copy of your Drivers License
and a Voided Check, so the ATM funds can be put into your bank) our
customer service team will create a program for your ATM (if you already
have an ATM). On the other hand, they will arrange to ship your preprogrammed
ATM if you purchased one directly from the web site. |

Q:
Will you pay me a referral fee if I tell you where a good ATM location
is? A:
Sorry, we don’t do that.
We get calls and emails from many folks that know where an ATM would
do great and want to be paid to tell us. If you’re not interested
in owning or operating the ATM, or filling the ATM with money, you
don’t have a vested interest in the ATMs performance. It has been
our experience that these never make money. |

|
Q: How secure is the web site, I am not that
comfortable providing my personal information online.
A: Our digital security certificate is issued by COMODO one of the
Premier Encryption Certificates available. Our certificate also includes
up to $10,000 in Identity Insurance. Our SSL Certificate holds the
same high standards that any financial institution and/or banking
website does. Simply
put your mouse over the "point to verify" icon below or double click
on the icon to review our verified information.

|
| |
Q: Do you work with location finders?
A: This is basically the same
question as above, but can work if the location finder is also putting
up cash. |
|
|
|
|
Q: Do you offer cash replenishment services?
A: Sorry, we don’t. It’s our
experience that the costs far outweigh the benefits. If you have
a really great location, you can contact an armored carrier such
as Bantek to arrange for them to pick up your cash at a vaulting
bank and fill your machines. They charge about $75 per drop.
|
|
|
| |
|
Q: I would rather not complete the online
application, where do I download a blank application to fill out?
A: You can download all the
needed forms for processing here

Q: What's the difference between business
hours safe (UL 291) and a Level 1 vault (UL291 level 1)?
A: The main difference is the
weight of the cabinet and the thickness of the steel used.
The scope of UL 291 is directed at the construction and security
of the ATM when operated as intended by an authorized customer.
The ATM must provide a limited degree of protection against unauthorized
removal of currency. The records of the transactions must be made
in order that the customer may be debited for currency dispensed.
A limited degree of protection is required against the removal or
manipulation of the records.
One is the Business Hours (BH) and the other is the 24-Hour Level-1
safe. Both must withstand attacks from someone trying to rob the
currency or alter the records. Both have environmental requirements.
And both have endurance requirements.

Q:
What is the difference between a Business Hours ATM
and 24 Hour Level 1 safe?
A: A Business Hours ATM is defined
as an ATM that is available during business hours only. It must
be under the observation of a responsible party. The money should
be removed at the close of business. The metal of the Business Hours
is not as thick as that of the Level-1. Business Hours security
containers must withstand forceful attacks on the seams and door
openings of the container. The attacker may use wires, lines, chisels,
pry bars, and wrenches to try to gain entry or remove the currency.
Attacks that are quiet are allowed to take 5 minutes. Loud attacks
are allowed to take 2 minutes.
24 Hours Service Level-1 containers are defined as those ATMs
that are available for use anytime of day. The steel that the
security container is constructed of should have a tensile strength
of 50,000 psi. Entry from the customer access panel into the currency
area of the 24 Hour should resist attacks for up to 30 minutes.
Attacks to remove currency will be made using fishing, trapping,
and forcing techniques. Tools may be wires, hooks, pry bars, hacksaw
blades, and certain other tooling that may be concealed in clothing.
Attacks on the other portions of the security container may be
made using picks and portable electric tools such as drills and
grinders. It shall resist attacks for up to 15 minutes. Most Triton
ATM containers have the security container portion of the ATM
separated from the customer access panel area. Therefore, gaining
access to the customer access area does not give entry into the
security container.

Q:
Does an ATM have to meet any environmental requirements?
A: Humidity 85% for 24 hours. The ATM must maintain records and maintain
the security of the currency.
Transient testing- simulates a brown out. Must pass 500 simulated
brown outs without lessening the security of the currency or the accuracy
of the records. Rain Test for Outdoor ATMs- will have a simulated
rainstorm on the exposed control panel for 1 hour. No failures are
allowed. Endurance test- must accurately maintain records and maintain
security of the currency for 6000 successful dispensing transactions.
Variable Temperature Test for Business Hours is +13°C to +35°C. For
24 Hour Level –1 indoor units 0°C to +35°C. For Outdoor units the
outside portion will be tested from -35°C to +66°C. The ATM may fail
to dispense but it must maintain records and maintain the security
of the currency. |

Q: Should I use a surge suppressor?
A: Some of the ATMs sold today come with built in surge protection. However,
it is always a good idea to place a surge protector in line with any
electronic equipment. We personally recommend surge protectors be
installed on both the power and telecom lines. Be sure to use a surge
suppressor approved for your location. |

Q: The building inspector told me to
get a GFI plug. What is this?
A: A GFI, Ground Fault Interrupt, outlet is used to decrease the chance
of shock due to water. Most measure the flow of current between line
and neutral. If there is a significant difference, the product assumes
the current is flowing through ground-shock condition. It then opens
the line. They do have to be checked periodically. Be sure the GFI
you use is approved for your area.
Although ATM manufacturers don’t require a GFI outlet for an ATM,
they do require that the outlet supplying power to the ATM be properly
grounded (also referred to as an “Orange plug”). |

Q: What does the statement "The affect
this unit has on Wall Fire Resistance
Ratings
has not been evaluated” mean? A: You
may see this or a similar statement on the Through-The-Wall (TTW)
ATMs. Your local building codes may specify that a wall is to have
a certain fire rating. Because a hole must be cut into the wall in
order for the TTW to be installed, the fire rating of the wall may
be affected. Be sure to check your local building codes to see how
you are affected. The same advice is given for installing any equipment
through a wall. |
